J. Cole releases the tracklisting for his third upcoming album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive. The new album arrives December 9th without the release of any singles up until its release. An industry  tactic different artists have been doing lately. The rapper has kept mum about his new album until now when he released the track listing as well as origin of the album's title. 

J. Cole states 2014 Forest Hills Drive, is the home in which he grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina until it went to foreclosure on his mother at a later time. J. Cole earlier this summer purchased the house back for $121,000. Talk about starting from the bottom. I'll be anticipating the album from my fellow Aquarian who has a birthday on January 28th also a song title on the album.

New Music: J. Cole Feat. TLC "Crooked Smile"

This Really Sounds Like A 90s Hip-Hop Track! 

Roc Nation artist J. Cole has released his second single "Crooked Smile" feat. TLC off of his sophomore album 'Born Sinner' out June 18th. This is the follow up single from the radio spinner first single "Power Trip" which features Miguel. 

On the track, J. Cole raps about his success and how it's not changing his flaws such as messed up teeth, unibrow and other things the public gets on J. Cole about. Having TLC on the track couldn't have been a better fit; this song could be the male version of TLC's hit 1999 song "Unpretty". 

I respect J. Cole and his music, he's not just like any other rapper out here in the game. I'm someone who grew up listening to the Rap genre of the 90s and I love stories mixed with melodic tunes...this is what J. Cole gives.

Throwback Friday - Paula Abdul "Straight Up"

I thought i'd definitely take you way back to an era in the late 80s where dance and music was the epitome of a great video. Paula Abdul who we all loved as a judge on American Idol and now love as a judge/mentor on The X-Factor is today's throwback artist. We all forget that Paula Abdul once was an incredible dancer, choreographer and singer. Paula's moves ignited the stage every performance she did. That soft innocent voice was what we all loved. Now I wasn't born in the early 80s, but hey being born in 89 growing up in the 90s in my home, you had to listen to all the great oldies.

One of my favorite songs from Paula Abdul is "Straight Up" this song is such a good stress relief workout song to jog too. I was reminded of this song by rapper J. Cole, his debut album Cole World, on one of the songs he samples Paula's hit "Straight Up". I mean who doesn't love this uptempo 80s disco trance beat. Without further adu, I present to you today's Throwback Friday - Paula Abdul "Straight Up" enjoy ;-) . Love You Paula!!!
