#MONDAYSOUNDOFF: 2014 SOUL TRAIN AWARDS PERFORMANCES & HIGHLIGHTS

Last night was the 2014 Soul Train Awards hosted by Wendy Williams. The show was a star studded event from performances from Chris Brown, Tinashe, Kem, Ledisi, Stephanie Mills, Tamar Braxton, Tank, Elle Varner, Missy Elliot, Lil' Kim, MC Lyte, Mase, Doug E. Fresh and more with a big tribute to the honorees of the evening Cool & The Gang. Instead of recapping the highlights and you want to see the winners of the evening click here.

Wendy Williams was alright as a host though she didn't put on her controversial persona but yet simply cute and entertaining talk show host persona. No drama was necessary for a night like that. Triple threat Chris Brown opened the show taking us back to his early hits and ending it with his current hits. You would have thought he was headlining for the Superbowl. Chris Brown still has it vocals and dance moves and all. 

Has Toni Braxton's Love For Music Come To An End?

It's sad to hear when one of your musical influences is quitting music.

It's true everybody, Toni Braxton is pulling the plug on music; she's saying her hearts not into anymore. Today Toni Braxton sat with Wendy Williams and talked everything from her Lupus illness,  two sons, Braxton Family Values season 3, new LifeTime movie airing tomorrow night titled Twist of Faith, pulling the plug on music and DATING.

Let's Re-Evaluate Taylor Swift

*SIGH*, it was announced Taylor Swift and short time boy-FRIEND One Direction's Harry Styles have parted ways. Now according to Wendy Williams, she has stated throughout the course of Taylor Swift's career she has been with about 14 guys in three years! Don't believe me then take a look for yourself: 

TOLD YOU! Well, anyway if it is Taylor's 14th guy-FRIEND relationship in three years, then I think we need to intervene on Taylor Swift and stop this on and off Friend-Mance between these guys in the limelight. Like really Taylor, we love you for your breakup songs about guys, but honestly I think you're the one doing this to yourself. Do you love singing about bad boys breaking hearts or are you the one who's breaking hearts now? Hmm...Taylor I'm On You! 

Any who, I think its time for her fans and those expert in relationships to help Taylor strive for a LONG LASTING relationship. I know it's hard to date in the entertainment industry, but 14 guys in three years, break that down to about 3.5 each year in 12 months, I mean... I guess. Whatever the case is, here's what I think Taylor should do...

Aglaelle Nicolas Singing "This Is My Desire"

 

My beautiful songstress of a friend who goes by the name Aglaelle Nicolas sung a beautiful song in which she had hopped to submit to the Wendy Williams Talent Search, sadly by the time she was about to submit the video the competition already came to a close. Instead of wasting the video she thought it would be good to just put it online and share her gift with the world. In the video you'll get a brief introduction about Aglaelle, where she comes from, who she is and why singing is very important to her. 

Also, be sure to be on the lookout for Aglaelle as she and her choir gospel group were selected to perform at President Obama's 2nd Inauguration Ceremony this coming January 21st. I'm so proud of Aglaelle and such a huge fan of hers. This young woman can SANG!!!! Not so long ago we both sang together on my Mac in which I will soon post the video on my blog so you can hear once again how amazing she is!

New Music: Trina Braxton "Party Or Go Home"

Over the past weekend, hit reality star and former background singer Trina Braxton released her debut pop single entitled "Party Or Go Home". If you haven't been following Trina and her sisters WEtv reality show Braxton Family Values, then you should know the young sister of legendary multi-Grammy award winning entertainer Toni Braxton has been trying to come out on her own as a solo artist and out the shadows of being Toni's background singer. "Party Or Go Home" was performed by Trina Braxton and her band on the last episode of season 2 which premiered last Thursday night. This single can either make or break Trina Braxton's solo career.

"Party Or Go Home" is a fun pop dance track in which Trina sings about having a damn good time stress and drama free and she states to the person who stays up against the wall all night to go home if he/she wasn't going to have a fun time. This is def a track to listen to on your way to the club or a party. Trina Braxton will release an EP via iTunes sometime this year. Straying away from the RnB style of music like her other sisters Toni and Tamar Braxton, I think the pop route may be suitable for Trina Braxton.
