Tasty Tuesday - Banana Ice Cream

As my sister was helping look online for tasty summer dessert treats and she decided to share the recipe of Banana Ice Cream. Now, I'm not much of an ice cream fan anymore, but I decided to go forth with the idea only because I can't only post recipes that I like; I have to be considerate of other people's taste buds too. 

We came across an easy make on Food Network Online by Alton Brown, what's great about this recipe is that it comes with an instructional video. I will also post the written recipe for those who really understand recipes by direct instruction. Banana Ice Cream is one of my sister's favorite and although I don't eat ice cream anymore, I thought this was very pleasing to my blog audience. Beyonce Recognizes Michelle Obama In A Letter

In the new ad campaign for Barack Obama, Beyonce sat down to read her letter she's written for First Lady Michelle Obama. The letter in which Beyonce wrote herself describes how inspiring and influential Mrs. Obama has been in Beyonce and Blue Ivy's life. Not only is Beyonce thanking Mrs. Obama, she even recognizes the First Lady's impact and contributions she has made during and before President Obama's term.

Ever since Beyonce's year of 4, she's been writing a lot of hand written inspirational letters to public figures and they have become very heart felt and touching. This is the year to go out and register to vote and Beyonce has never been afraid to proudly say her vote is within President Obama. Voting is important and with Beyonce on the campaign, i'm pretty sure the BeeHive fans will support and register to vote!!! Check the hand written letter and video below: 

New Music - Ciara "Overdose" [Snippet]

A leaked song  allegedly off of Ciara's One Woman Army album has hit the internet Monday. However, the song is just a snippet. This pop dance tune is cute for the Atlanta artist, I hope this song makes the album. Could Ciara venture off in the dance pop world? Listen to "Overdose" snippet below:

DJ Shy Bring It To The Wall Video Shoot

Sunday night, DJ Shy, Pure, Lumiedee and Chad B all partied up together as they shot the video for their remix single to DJ Shy's "Bring It To The Wall" at a popular night club, Dolce Lounge. From the looks of the pictures that were posted online, it looks as if I missed a music video in the making. DJ Shy's "Bring It To The Wall" has been on my On-The-Go playlist since it was released on iTunes. If I were at the video shoot, I would have been going OFF! Check the four photo pic stitch of the artists as they create a classic club video. 

Basketball Wives LA Attend New Castmate Brooke Bailey's Birthday Bash

Basketball Wives LA cast stepped out and about this past Saturday at The Custom Hotel, to celebrate new cast mate Brooke Bailey's birthday. The girls sported beautiful bathing suit pieces, Gloria of course showed off her bathing suit from her collection of swimwear she's named Mint Swim. 

Gloria Govan who looks phenomenal after birthing four kids shared smiles and pictures at the event. The cameras were there to record the birthday bash, just can't wait till the second season of Basketball Wives LA comes back on. The girls left us with a cliff hanger at the reunion show. I wonder if all the girls get a long now. Check out some pics from the event below.

Check out a leaked track from Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta's Joseline Hernandez titled "Bailar". I guess Joseline was going for a Reggaeton dance type of career; the song shockingly isn't bad. What do you think?

DASH LA Is Open For Business!!!

Those KRAZY Kardashians has relocated their first chain boutique DASH from Calabasas,California to Los Angeles and this past Friday was it's opening. The Dash Dolls Kourtney, Kim and Khloe decided to move their boutique DASH to a much noticeable busy area where business will pick up extremely due to Calabasas being such a quiet suburban area so why not Los Angeles. 

Spotted at the store's opening was Kim Kardashian and her beau Kanye West, Khloe Kardashian-Odom, Kris and Bruce Jenner; Kourtney and Scott weren't in attendance due to caring for their new baby girl Penelope Scotland Disick. With the upcoming release of Newark, NJ's native rapper Broadway Blake's album Broadway Empire, I will interview the rapper in the upcoming weeks. I will ask the important questions such as his influences in the music industry, his grind, of course the upcoming album, why it took him a year to finally release his project and more. Kristine's care free lovely spirit just makes you want to have her life; and to add she is drop dead gorgeous! 

I love Kristine's Instagram photos because she really makes you sit and think not to take life for granted, cherish every moment and make it your own. I Cover Beyonce's I Miss You [Preview]

I recently covered one of my favorite songs from Beyonce, a song off her latest album 4 titled "I Miss You" written and produced by the extraordinaire Frank Ocean. When I heard the album I instantly fell in love with the beat and then gradually listened to the lyrics of the song towards the end knowing for sure I truly can relate to it. 

There is always that person that comes in your life that you will always miss incredibly whether they are just in the bathroom or around the corner to the store and question whether that person shares the same feeling for you. Isn't it crazy what love can make you feel? I hope you enjoy the short preview of the video. The full one will be coming soon; so be on the lookout for it :-)! Enjoy!  

Tasty Tuesday: Avocado Deviled Eggs

Borrowed from Tori Spelling's blog which she borrowed from Eating Well Living Thin, I chose this temptingly somewhat delicious kind of deviled eggs. I say somewhat only because this deviled egg dish includes avocado and I am not a big fan of ANYTHING avocado. However, I am in love with deviled eggs so why not try something new and go a bit spicy. That's what hits my taste buds when I taste avocado; a bitter spiced taste. It looks very good though, I'm not going to deny that but one of these summer days i'll grab my BFF Britany and we can make some for a taste tester. Here's today Tasty Tuesday Avocado Deviled Eggs, check the recipe below. 

Ingredients

• 6 hard boiled eggs
• 1 medium avocado, diced small
• 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
• 2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
• 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
• Salt to taste

Directions

1. Cut boiled eggs in half lengthwise and carefully scoop out yolks. 
2. Mash yolks with a fork. Stir in diced avocados, mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and salt to taste. 
3. Fill egg whites with yolk mixture and place on a serving plate. Sprinkle with cayenne or fresh, chopped parsley. 

Tori’s Tip: Make this close to serving as avocado could brown!

Issa Rae's Webisode: Awkward Black Girl (Season 1)

Here's one of my newest favorite YouTube shows and it goes by the name of The Mis-Adventures Of Awkward Black Girl & Friends created by Issa Rae. I came across the show from a popular urban culture blog site that I visit daily and become obsessed with Issa Rae and her creation of ABG (Awkward Black Girl). 

ABG is a scripted YouTube web series based on main character J played by Issa Rae, as she takes us along with her weird and most awkward moments through life even inviting us into her job and introducing us to some of friends who are just as awkward as herself; we even get a glimpse of interracial dating. Issa Rae created the show last year January 2011 and flash forwarding till now the show is in it's second season; being picked up by Grammy award winning recording artist/producer Pharrell's I Am Other YouTube channel. ABG's first episode in season one brought in over 1 million views it's first week of airing. 

I didn't think I would actually become addicted to the show, but soon after I watched the first episode I was so intrigued my finger couldn't press the PAUSE button. There are currently 13 episodes in the first season with one episode up for season 2; episode 2 will be available for viewing later this month. Of course, I will keep you updated on the episodes. Issa Rae and her creative team who can also be seen as actors on ABG have been getting a lot of publicity by appearing on daytime talk shows, an article in ESSENCE Magazine, notable blog sites and even caught the attention of entertainment news outlets followed by much more. 

If you aren't familiar with ABG then I will catch you up on the 13 episodes right here for you! I'll even sneak in season 2's first episode. After you have watched season 1, I recommend you watch the hour long interview between Google/YouTube representatives, Issa Rae and two other ABG co-stars. VERY EXCITING SHOW THAT I LOVE DEARLY!!! I CAN RELATE IN SO MANY WAYS!!!
