The Beginning of a New Era

BACK BUT NOT HALFWAY...

There comes a time in a person's life where they must contemplate their thoughts and let it out in written format. However, I have a lot of thoughts, questions as well as answers I need to express to you all. I've decided to give a certain self evaluation needed space on my blog for myself as an outlet to express some of the things on my mind: what's bothering me, ideas, advice and stories. 

Some of you only are familiar with me through my blog (Entertainment) and some of you know me personally. You might have questions as to where have I been?, what have I been up to? and most importantly why haven't I been blogging lately?. The question that I frequently get asked is do I still blog?. The answer to that is, YES! I still blog (THANK YOU ALL WHO SHOW SUPPORT). I had to take a step back to focus on my senior year of college (Which I completed this past May). As to why didn't I come back? I won't give you an answer just yet. 

Which is why I decided to start a journal/blog portion on my website. I'm stuck between calling my site a blog or not. I purchased a domain, it is a place where I post entertainment stories, I generally feel like I am entitled to call it my website. This here journal portion will be a reflection of who I really am as a person. Not a lot of people really know me as a human being, they just know me based on how I portray myself on the outside. TRUST ME there is a fine thick layer between who I really am and what you really see. 

Each week I'll write a journal entry and by doing so it will unfold to the person I really am. I am caring, silly, serious, emotional, loving, a friend, a lover, an aspiring singer/actor, blogger, writer, reader, as well as a huge supporter. Most importantly, I LOVE MYSELF.

The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour - My Experience [Video]

Hey Everyone!

Extremely sorry about the delay of uploading the video I promised of my experience at Beyoncé's 'The Mrs. Carter Show' world tour. Editing took forever and I didn't know the finalizing and uploading portions would nearly take almost half the day. It was a pretty gruesome process for my eyes and brain. I tried to be as creative as can be. I got the job done and it is now available to view. 

A little about the video before you watch it. I wanted to edit and create this video as entertaining as possible. The clips I actually recorded weren't very entertaining enough, so I thought I'd borrow video clips from YouTube and a YouTube user by the name of 'JBoogie157'. I created a YouTube DVD experience with chapters included. 

Editing Process

I wanted to showcase Beyoncé's momentum up until she started her tour. Before touring, there were a few promotions Beyoncé engaged in from the top of year (2013) until now (the tour). If you all don't remember Beyoncé performed at Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show and I started with that performance followed by the tour's first AD commercial leading up to the promotions of PEPSI and H&M. To really get your momentum going, I added the official 'The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour' trailer which begins my experience at the concert. 

I had such a great time editing this video as well as attending the concert. I plan on going back a second time to the tour this December 19th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. I hope you all enjoy this video and if you haven't purchased your ticket to see Beyoncé, I'd advise you to do so immediately.

Spending Valentine's Day Single & In Wal-Mart [Pics + Video]

Who knew Valentine's Day could be spent so much better with best friends?! This past Valentine's Day was so much fun, my friend Britnie and I decided since we were both single on a lover's day to just have a Single's Date Night. We went to Kenilworth Diner (OUR ABSOLUTE FAV) and somehow ended up in Wal-Mart buying DVDs, taking pictures with random people and acting a crazy mess. We even acted as little big kids in the toy section hula-hooping. I mean how much fun could one have on Valentine's Day in Wal-Mart?!

It's Up To The Guy To Choose Which Side He'll Listen To In Befriending The Popular Girl In His Class.

GOT JESUS: Dinner At Jamina's!

Nothing's more fun than hanging with friends enjoying a nice meal. Last week, I had the honor of spending some time with one of my newest friends, Jamina West. I met Jamina very randomly at a bus stop in the town that I live and she introduced herself to me even adding she was new in town; moving from Georgia to New Jersey. Of course, I had to befriend this beautiful young woman and who would have thought we'd kick it off tremendously. 

I went to her house and made her cook din din for me (i'm such the ultimate fat person), with the limited options we had available at such short notice Jamina decided to make the most amazing and delicious Parmesan Chicken w/ mixed Wheat Noodles. With doing so the remainder of the night, I got to know Jamina much better on a personally level as well as experienced some of her many TALENTS! You all will be SHOCKED at what this girl can DO!

Remarkable Gospel Singing

I don't know what took me so long to edit this video, but I did say I was going to share it with you all. Here's a video from last semester that my friend Aglaelle and I did randomly, we were bored and decided to sing a little. We both have such beautiful voices but I really admire Aglaelle's even more, I can't wait until we both hit the studio and record a duet. 

In this video we decided to sing some Gospel songs ("I Love The Lord" - Whitney Houston & "I Give Myself Away" - William McDowell) and close out with "Silent Night" most famously by Mariah Carey; this video was definitely recorded in December; excuse us for being in the holiday moment. How cute are our harmonies and voices though? We could be a group right? Or would you like to see us do a duet? 

Throwback Thursday: Me & Britany's First USTREAM

I don't know how many laughs and jokes i'm going to get out of people watching this. I remember my BFF Britany and myself being so bored, we decided to go on USTREAM and connect with the world (since we both don't have any friends). When we decided to do the USTREAM we didn't care how we looked or had any clue what we will be talking about. This video seemed so long ago about 4 yrs old but it was just recorded March 15th of 2011.  I don't know what we talked about but we did have some viewers and the small group of friends we shared (TAMMY, DJ SHY, LEI & DIO) joined in on our conversations as we reminisced just about everything. 

I'm so thankful for the internet and how advanced technology has become. Just knowing we could record a video years ago and still have access to it just makes me happy; I cherish each and every moment I spend with Britany (well, she's my BFF) and the times we're together you just don't know what will come out of our mouths. She'll probably kill me for posting the video but hey this is a laugh we ought to look back on many many many years from now.

I hope we get to do more; though I'll try to USTREAM more often, maybe I'll start every Friday to sum up my week of posts...STAY TUNED!

I spent New Year's Eve in Brooklyn, New York with my Cali friends and when I say Katy Perry was right about California Girls, she was def RIGHT!!! I have to def plan a trip out to California asap. I'm so grateful to have a beautiful sisterhood within Beth and Desi...THANKS GIRLS!!!! I Cover Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together"

So one of my favorite songs right now is Taylor Swift's new single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" off of her upcoming new album RED. I fell in love with the song ever since she performed it at the MTV VMA's. The song's chorus is pretty much so catchy as to you can't never ever forget it and you'll find yourself singing it in the most random places, like i've done in the public bathroom and elevator. 

I decided to just record the chorus part clearly that's my favorite. I hope you all like my chorus cover of Taylor Swift's brand new spanking song. Make sure you guys purchase the single on iTunes too!

I Cover Beyonce's I Miss You [Preview]

I recently covered one of my favorite songs from Beyonce, a song off her latest album 4 titled "I Miss You" written and produced by the extraordinaire Frank Ocean. When I heard the album I instantly fell in love with the beat and then gradually listened to the lyrics of the song towards the end knowing for sure I truly can relate to it. 

There is always that person that comes in your life that you will always miss incredibly whether they are just in the bathroom or around the corner to the store and question whether that person shares the same feeling for you. Favorite Instagram Of The Week - Badgalriri

If you're not on the famously iPhone/Android app Instagram by now, I say kill yourself...JUST KIDDING! Instagram is a photo based app that allows you to post any picture you want, edit the photo with effects and share it with your friends. A lot of celebrities use the app to post candid pictures of themselves rather having the paparazzi upload silly, wrong, and embarrassing pictures of them. 

My favorite Instagramer though has happened to be ROC NATION recording popstar Rihanna. We all know Rihanna is a trendsetter and she shares her looks with fans on the app. What made me favor Rihanna's Instagram photos is that she posts whatever she wants and captions it however she feels like; they're entertaining and dope at the same time. I love Rihanna mixing SWAG with COMEDY to her photos, that's exactly what she gives me. If you have the Instagram app check her out @Badgalriri and make sure you follow me @LaTroyWatson.

Girls Night Out "CLUB AMNESIA" [Video]

There's nothing like going out and having a good time with your Churls (girlfriends). The photo was taken in early January (from left to right: Brieana, LaTisha, Kyra and myself; we're missing one more person Fallynn). We partied at Club Amnesia in New York City to celebrate a friend's going away party. I just found the video I recorded of the churls getting ready; what a great and LONG night it was.
