The holiday season is here. December 1st starts the countdown to Christmas. While we wait, this is the time when you'll hear lots and lots of holiday music. My favorite song of the holiday season is Mariah Carey's classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You", which can be heard covered by Fifth Harmony on Epic Records compilation EP I'll Be Home For Christmas.

Following the platinum success of her debut single "The Way" feat. Mac Miller, Nickelodeon teen sensation Ariana is back with her second single "Baby I". The song written and produced by Babyface, Tony Dixon and j.Que is set to be another hit in just a matter of moments. 

"Baby I" is giving me a mix between Ashanti's "Rock Wit U (Aww Baby)" and an earlier Mariah Carey pop tune. Nonetheless, I'm absolutely loving the musical debut of Ariana Grande. Listen to the new single below and download it on iTunes now!

Hold Up ... SHE HITS MARIAH CAREY NOTES?!

Okay, so while everyone's talking about new pop artist Ariana Grande's voice being similar to pop diva Mariah Carey on her debut single "The Way" feat. Mac Miller, I had to do research myself to see what the whole hype was about. With doing much research i've learned 3 things from Ariana Grande: 

1. Ariana was on Nickoledeon's 'Victorious' as a supporting character.

2. Ariana can do multiple music artist impressions.

3. Ariana is dating Mac Miller. 

No wonder why this girl is making her way to the charts, she has a hot single and the girl can SANG!!! I mean although she can hit Mariah Carey notes and sorta-sounds like her on her debut single, Ariana Grande doesn't have the soul of MC but i'm pretty sure this girl will be around for some years. 

Due to the immense severity of vocal resemblances to Mariah Carey, a while back before dropping her debut single "The Way", Ariana stepped in the studio to pen one of Mariah Carey's earlier classics "Emotions"; which is a pop tune with extremely high notes, I didn't think no other artist or person can execute the song as gracefully Mariah did the song until Ariana took her try.

Music Video: Tamar Braxton "The One"

Are Overalls In This Season?! I SAY YES!!! 

SHE DID IT AGAIN!!! Tamar Braxton has executed with another beautiful music video for her follow up video to her #1 hit with last years "Love And War". The video for Tamar's second single off of her awaited sophomore album 'Love and War' "The One" shows a beautiful glowing Tamar as she prances around a carnival with her love interest. 

The video is so giving me Mariah Carey "Fantasy" mixed with Jessica Simpson's "I Think I'm In Love With You" clash tease (In An AWESOME Way). I can't help but love how happy Tamar looks in the video and how pregnant she is in the video, she still can get down. The video directed by Gil Green shows how beautiful a woman  pregnant can be and still have fun. 

Tamar Braxton is definitely the one to bring RnB back this summer! Check out the video after the jump! 

American Idol New Judges? ...

Hmm, Dear Randy Jackson...PLEASE STAY!!!

Now that the 12th season of American Idol is over the question lies who will be the returning judges for its 13th season. We already know American Idol veteran since season 1 Randy Jackson has resigned from the show after he made his decision to step down as a judge just last month. There have been rumors hitting the net that Nicki Minaj has decided to step down from the judges panel which leaves newbies Keith Urban and Mariah Carey. 

This season by far had the most diverse panel of judges, I've ever witnessed on a season of American Idol. Though in the beginning there was heavy tension between divas Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey, the two of them are what brought the high ratings during the audition rounds. The bicker and feud just wasn't enough to keep viewers interested as the ratings dropped drastically, deeming the total as the lowest rating in American Idol history! 

New Music: Mariah Carey "Almost Home"

Here it is, the leading single for Disney's upcoming movie 'Oz The Great And Powerful' in theaters March 8th. Mariah Carey was chosen to lead the soundtrack with the most beautiful song which she written herself. The song titled "Almost Home" reminds me of a modern and updated "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" but of course it would because the movie is based around 'The Wizard of Oz'. 

Mariah Carey sounds very stellar and spectacular on this track nothing we've ever heard from Mariah. Such an uplifting track and why not choose Mariah Carey to raise our hopes and dreams to the extreme. At first when the snippet was circling the internet, I didn't care for it, but it was until the full release of the song where I knew I had fallen in love.

Tamar Braxton - "Love and War" Music Video

The video we've all been waiting for since last year is finally here!!! Tamar Braxton premiered the video for her single "Love and War" off of her sophomore album as well titled Love and War yesterday  on BET's 106 and Park. The video directed by Walid Azami couldn't have been more beautiful in capturing Tamar at her precious moments lip syncing to the beautiful ballad. 

The video as a whole is black and white themed and while some argue that Tamar was either stealing or paying homage to Mariah Carey, I'd have to disagree. Tamar was her own person in her own music video telling a story and what better way to tell a story than a classic black and white effect?!

Remarkable Gospel Singing

I don't know what took me so long to edit this video, but I did say I was going to share it with you all. Here's a video from last semester that my friend Aglaelle and I did randomly, we were bored and decided to sing a little. We both have such beautiful voices but I really admire Aglaelle's even more, I can't wait until we both hit the studio and record a duet. 

In this video we decided to sing some Gospel songs ("I Love The Lord" - Whitney Houston & "I Give Myself Away" - William McDowell) and close out with "Silent Night" most famously by Mariah Carey; this video was definitely recorded in December; excuse us for being in the holiday moment. How cute are our harmonies and voices though? We could be a group right? Or would you like to see us do a duet?

In the midst of all this Mariah Carey vs. Nicki Minaj hoopla since the TMZ video leaked of the two new American Idol judges going back and forth in what seemed to be a disagreement taken way out of control. A day after the incident ABC's best insider squirrel Barbara Walters sat down with Mariah Carey to get her word of what happened between Nicki Minaj and the 200 million records sold pop artist aka the 'Golden Voice' as Barbara Walters pens Mariah. 

Months later Barbara once again sat down with Mariah Carey, not only to discuss her relationship with Nicki Minaj, but to discuss her salary on American Idol (earning a whopping $18 million for a season), her upcoming new record "Bring It On Home" a song she's written for re-elect President Obama, husband Nick Cannon and their adorable twins and more.

But once Barbara Walters brought up Nicki Minaj's latest single "Hell Yeah" where in the song Nicki Minaj references her spot on American Idol and mentions BITCH, Barbara asks Mariah if she was the BITCH Nicki Minaj was (SINGING/RAPPING)referring to: 

"I'll take it, sign on the dotted line
But I'm quick to check a bitch if she outta line
Shout out Mike, Darnell, and Nigel
Why these bums so mad that the queen on idol
Huh?"

Congrats To The New American Idol Judges!

Congrats to your new American Idol judges; Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and of course your host Ryan Seacrest. Finally, after months of speculation about who would replace judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler it looks like FOX have came down to a decision. 

It is rumored newly judges Keith Urban will earn a whopping $4 million, Nicki Minaj earning $8 million and Mariah Carey banking with a $17 million dollar deal; again this is said to be rumored. I personally don't know how much the judges are getting compensated, but I can bet you your bottom dollar these high profiled celebrities now judges are making more than any of us by the second. 

I'm anxious to see how this new group of judges will play out to the contestants on the upcoming 2013 season of American Idol. Could Idol hopefuls actually become more nervous than ever now that Grammy Award winning vocalist Mariah Carey will be on the panel critiquing their talent? Will Nicki Minaj bring the creative aspect to the hopefuls performances? Or better yet Keith Urban looks as if he's the quiet one out of the group, could he be the next Simon Cowell? Who knows, we'll just have to stay tuned January 2013.

Just after American Idol judge Steven Tyler announced his departure from one of the greatest talent finder competition shows in the world, American Idol; Jennifer Lopez then followed stating she'd be leaving the judges panel also. Leaving producers to look for two more judges to sit alongside Randy Jackson.

The two lovable judges Tyler and Lopez would be greatly missed, but they both are reasoning their departure based on needing time to focus on their music careers. There were no feuds whatsoever, in fact Jennifer stated to ABC News Amy Robach "We had magic,I don't know, with him gone, it might be a different formula.". 

How does Mariah Carey come in this story? Well, there have been reports saying for the longest since Paula Abdul's departure in 2009, American Idol creator and once judge Simon Cowell has been trying to get Mariah Carey to sign on as a judge; that on Idol and his new FOX hit show The X-Factor, but conflicts in scheduling refrained from Carey being a judge. However, last week a very close source told US Weekly "They are in serious talks with Mariah and it's very close to being a done deal." If Carey is chosen to be American Idol's newest judge, Randy will sign off as a judge and become a mentor to the next batch of hopefuls. 

I'm not sure what to think of the whole situation, I really believe American Idol needs to have steady judges who will sign on for a long time and not up and leave. I never knew Mariah Carey to be very critical verbally, I kind of want MiMi to stick to being a mentor and not a judge. BUT who knows, she might just have something stored up her sleeves for us LAMBS <3!

Today we're changing it up from Throwback Friday to Holiday Friday. Two days before Christmas and we're going to watch a new holiday festive music video from our RnB/Pop icon Mariah Carey. The new video "When Christmas Comes" features John Legend, which the original track without the songster himself is on MiMi's second platinum selling Christmas album entitled Merry Christmas II You. I love both of Mariah's Christmas albums and right now this holiday I can't stop listening to it. "When Christmas Comes" feat. John Legend is a beautiful song and the video features a lot of special appearances from many of Mariah's loved ones. Webcam Fun With Shawna :-)

Last Friday, my lovely beautiful friend Shawna stopped by to have some girl time and talk boys, sex and many more. We took tons of pictures on my webcam and recorded ourselves singing Mariah Carey and Beyonce. Secretly she doesn't listen to Beyonce that much, but by the end of that night I guarantee you when she got home she put Beyonce on full bast thanks to me lol. It's always fun when hanging out with people you really love and enjoy. I love you Shawna, Let's do this again please!!!!!

It's not even the Christmas season yet, but this Michael Buble guy just makes me want to skip Halloween and Thanksgiving and go right to the Christmas holiday. I love a good Christmas album, in  my opinion nobody beats the Christmas albums the Jackson 5 and Mariah Carey. Michael Buble however has just made the list, his voice on these Christmas classics is incredible. If you are looking for that old soulful unforgettable holiday music then Christmas by Michael Buble is what you need to go grab.


Michael covers classics such as "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas", "White Christmas feat. Justin Bieber - Under The Mistletoe

Yes #TeamBieber the one and only Justin Bieber will be stuffing your stockings this Christmas with his upcoming holiday album entitled Under The Mistletoe. Don't we just love the way Justin is taking over the music industry in every way? The holiday album is set for a release November 1st. The christmas album also features a line up of your favorite artists who will help Bieber bring in the holiday such as Usher, Busta Rhymes, Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men and country group the Band Perry. The leading track set to be released on the 18th is called "Mistletoe". The video has been filmed and will set to debut the same week the single is released.

I'm in love with Christmas albums by artists, I find that their true vocals are really put to the test, it's not easy singing a Christmas song. Hopefully if you've been really good this year you'll have one helluva Bieber Christmas. I know when the album drops i'll be one happy Bieber fan bringing in Christmas spirit in the month of October. Hmm, I wonder why his girlfriend Selena Gomez wasn't invited along to sing some songs on the album. Welp, we know the two of them will have a very Merry Christmas :-).

Patti LaHelle Presents: Got 2B Real

This whole summer I have been obsessing over creative and funny YouTube shows.One show I came across is a Diva Variety Show entitled Got 2B Real. This show features all of your favorite divas in one reality show. The divas you may ask who; well they are Patti Labelle, Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Rihanna, Chaka Khan, Fantasia, Diana Ross and last but not least MOTHER Beyonce. There are three episodes so far all which are recently uploaded. In this variety show, you will see everything from jealousy, bickering, cattiness, double teaming, reactions to certain entertainment events, drama and all. This show is so funny.

However, what makes these videos so creative is that the creator @PattiLahelle uses past and recent interviews of each diva and does the voice overs for each segment. It's very brilliant and a thought out process; difficult if you ask me. Remember these are just PARODY videos, in no way shape or form to hurt the real artists in the industry, just something to poke fun at. I wish the show was actually on TV because I would be tuned into it every week. I'll post episode 1 below and if you're interested for more the other two episodes will be posted after the jump along with contact information. Enjoy!

Throwback Friday - SOS Band "Just Be Good To Me"

Today's Throwback Friday artist goes out to the S.O.S. Band and one of my favorite songs of theirs is "Just Be Good To Me". I remember hearing this song when I was little, when my mother and I would drive around with my aunt to the mall or somesort. Mariah Carey also performed the song on one of her sold out tours. "Just Be Good To Me" has such a great message and the lyrics tells you straight up if you're in a relationship with me, do your part, act right and just be good to me. The picture above is really funny lol. It's the middle of the week and today is the day to make any wish you want. This is why we call these Wednesday posts "Wishful Wednesday". If you're not familiar with "Wishful Wednesday" here's the day you start to learn about the wishing movement.
