TASTY TUESDAY: SUNNY'S CEREAL CONFETTI COOKIES

Tis' the season to stock your dining room with christmas cookies delight.

The holidays are all about tasty treats and satisfying meals. I'm one who loves to have a little bit of treats in a jar or bin to help bring in the holiday spirit when I'm not cooking. I've always been a cookie type of guy. Especially chocolate chip and sugar cookies.

I came across Food Network's own Sunny Anderson's beautifully presented 'Sunny's Cereal Confetti Cookies' and I just thought I had to share with you all. The fact that it's already sugar cookies but with a bit of Fruity Pebbles cereal (which happens to be my favorite) just got me excited to bake and try.

I incorporated M&Ms in my chocolate chip cookies but I never once thought to add cereal to the mix. I can't wait to try the cookies once I bake them and share them with you all. Have you ever done this before? What type of treats do you keep around during the holidays?

TASTY TUESDAY: THANKSGIVING TURKEYS (CANDY DESSERT)

Tis the season to be greedy, however this year I'm not so much into the holiday feasting moment. I'm taking a step back away from the dinner table and just nibble here and there on some of the desserts. Thanksgiving isn't just the same for me anymore since I'm beginning to dislike some of the foods I once loved.

As always, I'm all for the dessert table. Anything from cakes, cookies to banana pudding, I'm right there with my plate in hand. I came across this cute small dessert treat very different from what I have at my Thanksgiving dinners. This is Food Network's 'Thanksgiving Turkeys' by Giada De Laurentiis. This delightful dessert dish includes, Peanut Butter Cups, Oreo's, Candy Corn and sweet frosting.

If you're intrigued by this dessert dish as I am. Then take your shot at it by re-creating this dish as apart of your Thanksgiving. Remember to share your photos with me!!!

But first you'll need the recipe and ingredients!

Tasty Tuesday - Gina's Spinach Dip

Photo Courtesy of Food Network Online

For some reason i'm in love with sauces and dips. I usually dip my meals in some type of side sauce or dip every time I go out to restaurants or just at family cookouts. My dip addiction is Spinach Dip, I had it for the first time last year and ever since i've been hooked. It's something about how creamy and zesty it tastes. In fact, the only Spinach Dip i've ever tasted was from 'Friday's' and 'Chili's'.

This week's Tasty Tuesday, I decided to bring on Food Network's own The Neely's with their homemade recipe of 'Gina's Spinach Dip'. It's good to go to a restaurant and order the finest Spinach Dip, but that's just too costly when you think about it. Why not buy the ingredients yourself and create the dish at home so you can have it whenever you feel for it.

Drink Looks So Good, Makes You Wanna SPIKE It!

Only if you're 21 and older, then you can spike the drink. On to the story, I haven't done a Tasty Tuesday post in some months now and I know you all have been dying for them. Still going along with my health route for the summer, I'm all about drinking more and eating less [I didn't say STARVE though]. As the nice weather is rapidly creeping it's way into our lives we all need to walk around with a nice cold beverage.

I stumbled upon my favorite go to website The Food Network Online and search a sexy and appealing drink that would get you in the mood for summer and feeling like a reality celebrity. Just be sure not to throw your class at the nearest patron by you.

This Tasty Tuesday i'm bringing to you Food Network's own Sunny Anderson with 'Sunny's Fruity Limoncello Spritzer'. The fruity drink made it's debut Thanksgiving 2012, but from the looks of it, this drink can be recyclable from B.C. to A.D. OKAY?! Any who, here's the recipe to today's Tasty Tuesday drink!

Tasty Tuesday: Easter Deviled Eggs

Photo Courtesy of Real Mom Kitchen
Just In Time For Easter ...

I can't believe how fast 2013 is flying by us, I mean it's already Easter soon. Well, I love this time of the year because that means nice warm weather will be approaching as well as we get to become festive for the Spring Time.

I wanted to choose a light colorful and festive meal that will liven up our spirits on Easter Day. Thanks to Real Mom Kitchen for posting the colorful Easter Deviled Eggs. I am a BIG FAN of Deviled Eggs and instead of painting the outside of a hardboiled egg, why not dye the egg's soft part?!

I remember being a kid and loving to dye hardboiled eggs, create silly faces and then afterwards eat them. I hope I can relive this childhood fun-time with my nephews when they come over. Hopefully, we'll try this new idea of eating colored eggs this year.

Has Anyone Done This Before?!

Tasty Tuesday: Spaghetti With Quick Turkey Chili

Photo Courtesy of Food Network Online

Eavesdropping on my mother's conversation yesterday as she mentioned cooking Spaghetti this week, my mouth watered. I wasn't going to choose something so heavy today, but I mean we can ditch our diets one day of the week...you know *CHEAT DAY* (words of a true fatty).

I went searching online for some good Spaghetti recipes and came across something healthy that included real fresh vegetables and meat. Instead of giving a dish using beef, this Spaghetti can substitute the ground beef for ground turkey. To make things so much yummier, you can mix your ground turkey into a quick chili throw it over your noodles and you'll end up with the ultimate Spaghetti dish.

Enough, of my babbling, I know this is one dish mixture you all would love to try (I know I can't wait to get in the kitchen with my mother and start adding these special tweaks). Without further adu, here's today's Tasty Tuesday meal and it comes from Food Network's Magazine's own 'Spaghetti With Quick Turkey Chili'.

LAYS Presents: Do Us A FLavor

I remember last year my step-sister's mom was telling us that LAYS were looking for the next big flavor of chips to add to their collection and they were looking for the public to create a great tasting flavor that will be voted upon world wide. I didn't want any part to it only because at the time my mind was blank on what flavor chip I wanted in my life. I also really didn't think this competition would really fall through. I guess LAYS proved me wrong.

LAYS just presented their three flavor finalists: Cheesy Garlic Bread, Chicken & Waffles, Sriracha and now they're leaving the vote in our hands to choose which one will be the new flavor of LAYS. All three flavors are out for sale as a test taster then based upon the flavor we like we can personally go to the FaceBook page and choose which flavor should win. This is funny because someone actually came up with the Chicken & Waffles flavor, a dish I never tried nor ever thought was a great combo; but in the south it's pretty popular. I think the winner of this competition will be Cheesy Garlic Bread, I mean hey, everyone loves cheese and garlic as a mixture. The Sriracha is a name I can't even pronounce so marketing wise, I feel this will fall short in the competition.

I can't wait to see which flavor wins though!
Who do you think will win & have you tried any of the flavors yet?

Tasty Tuesday - Buffalo Chicken Salad

I promise not to get too heavy on the Tasty Tuesday meals for those who are sticking to their New Year's resolutions of eating right and getting back into shape after all those holiday meals. After indulging in fatty foods and pasta this weekend, I'm slowing things down myself and eating portioned dinners light and hearty (oh I mean healthy). I was browsing through Food Network online when I came across their top healthy New Year's meals.

Today's Tasty Tuesday healthy meal to start by getting back into shape in Ellie Krieger's Buffalo Chicken Salad. A salad is the best meal to have throughout the day, only because you can indulge in your favorite foods mixed in with it such as Buffalo Chicken. I enjoy a good Buffalo Chicken Pizza, but since I can't have that, I will trick my tastebuds into making my Buffalo Chicken Salad taste as if it was a slice of pizza. Ellie Krieger also makes her own blue cheese, how much healthier can this get?!

Tasty Tuesday - Crispy Phyllo Wrapped Hot Dog Mummies

It's getting close to Halloween and I know some or most of you plan terrific big Halloween parties but kind of run out of ideas for refreshments or treats. As always searching on Food Network Online, I came across this tasteful creative Halloween treat dish that seemed just right for those scary parties. Food Network Channel's own chefs came up with Crispy Phyllo Wrapped Hot Dog Mummies to tastefully haunt our tastebuds.

It's cute to see the little hotdogs wrapped up like mummies then poppped into our mouths for a wonderful  treat. I never had or heard of the hot dog mummy wraps until now; this looks really good. This meal is perfect for afternoon snacks or can be served as little party platters when throwing a big Halloween event. When having holiday parties, I suggest you go all out creatively to match your festive event from the food, decorations even your costume, stick with a theme though, don't just throw scary everywhere!

Tasty Tuesday: Watermelon Salad Recipe

As the fall season gets us whipped back into shape; those who are back to school students, back to work parents from a nice summer's vacation or just a full time stay at home parent. We all know the first couple of days and weeks can be pretty hectic and rough. Try not to cramp your diet by eating a lot of carbs, greasy or fast foods just because you don't have time or feel too tired enough to cook something up.  You need a meal or snack that will give you an extra power booster to continue through your day or week.

I highly recommend eating a course dealing with watermelon's and other high in energy fruits. Watermelon which seems to be my favorite, is 100% made up of water which keeps your body hydrated and functioning. Adding a touch of small fruit with it will give your body the extra energy it needs. Food Network Magazine couldn't have came up with a much energizing relaxed watermelon type meal.

For this Tasty Tuesday meal i'm choosing Watermelon Salad Recipe; i'm more than sure eating a bowl of this a day will restore your energy you once lost that full first day of school, work, or at home. This delish dish is so easy and fun to make you won't even have to hassle about cleaning dishes.

Tasty Tuesday - Deep Fried Oreos

Last week my sister tried her best to make fried Oreos but ended up making it into a hot mess disaster. I think she thought she knew what she was doing when in all reality, she just was frying desserts just to fry. Keeping with the summer tradition of posting delicious desserts, I thought I'd add the correct recipe on how to make your own Deep Fried Oreos

Now, I've never had them a day in my life before i tried to taste a bite last week, but as soon as I bit into the Oreo I decided to dispose it ASAP! Maybe because I thought it wasn't the correct way it was supposed to taste; but here I have the recipe from AllRecipes and i'll be more than gladly to share it with you all. First off i'm not with the whole frying desserts, but hey you have to step outside the box and live a little right? Have you ever tried Deep Fried Oreos? Or Any dessert fried of that matter?

Tasty Tuesday - Banana Ice Cream

As my sister was helping look online for tasty summer dessert treats and she decided to share the recipe of Banana Ice Cream. Now, I'm not much of an ice cream fan anymore, but I decided to go forth with the idea only because I can't only post recipes that I like; I have to be considerate of other people's taste buds too.

We came across an easy make on Food Network Online by Alton Brown, what's great about this recipe is that it comes with an instructional video. I will also post the written recipe for those who really understand recipes by direct instruction. Banana Ice Cream is one of my sister's favorite and although I don't eat ice cream anymore, I thought this was very pleasing to my blog audience. Here's your Tasty Tuesday meal Banana Ice Cream...Bon Appetite!

Tasty Tuesday: Avocado Deviled Eggs

Borrowed from Tori Spelling's blog which she borrowed from Eating Well Living Thin, I chose this temptingly somewhat delicious kind of deviled eggs. I say somewhat only because this deviled egg dish includes avocado and I am not a big fan of ANYTHING avocado. However, I am in love with deviled eggs so why not try something new and go a bit spicy. That's what hits my taste buds when I taste avocado; a bitter spiced taste. It looks very good though, I'm not going to deny that but one of these summer days i'll grab my BFF Britany and we can make some for a taste tester. Here's today Tasty Tuesday Avocado Deviled Eggs, check the recipe below.

Ingredients
  • 6 hard boiled eggs
  • 1 medium avocado, diced small
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
  • Salt to taste
Directions
  1. Cut boiled eggs in half lengthwise and carefully scoop out yolks.
  2. Mash yolks with a fork. Stir in diced avocados, mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and salt to taste.
  3. Fill egg whites with yolk mixture and place on a serving plate. Sprinkle with cayenne or fresh, chopped parsley.
Tori’s Tip: Make this close to serving as avocado could brown!

Tasty Tuesday: Skinnygirl Daily Cleanse Berry Smoothie

For those who are on a strict diet this week like myself and need a fast cleanser why not try Bethenny Frankel's Skinnygirl Daily Cleanse Berry Smoothie. Well, this is at least what Bethenny says about the smoothie on her website. Berries couldn't have been the perfect choice to cleanse with.

Everything here is safe and healthy to drink, trust me I wouldn't give you anything you could die from.. I think I need to make a gallon of this and just use it throughout the rest of the week. Beings though I already have a well balanced meal, I'm just using this to rush my water weight off of me.

Check out this simple recipe for a Skinnygirl Daily Cleanse Smoothie:
