TASTY TUESDAY: SUNNY'S CEREAL CONFETTI COOKIES

Tis' the season to stock your dining room with christmas cookies delight.

The holidays are all about tasty treats and satisfying meals. I'm one who loves to have a little bit of treats in a jar or bin to help bring in the holiday spirit when I'm not cooking. I've always been a cookie type of guy. Especially chocolate chip and sugar cookies.

I came across Food Network's own Sunny Anderson's beautifully presented 'Sunny's Cereal Confetti Cookies' and I just thought I had to share with you all. The fact that it's already sugar cookies but with a bit of Fruity Pebbles cereal (which happens to be my favorite) just got me excited to bake and try.

I incorporated M&Ms in my chocolate chip cookies but I never once thought to add cereal to the mix. I can't wait to try the cookies once I bake them and share them with you all. Have you ever done this before? What type of treats do you keep around during the holidays?

TASTY TUESDAY: THANKSGIVING TURKEYS (CANDY DESSERT)

Tis the season to be greedy, however this year I'm not so much into the holiday feasting moment. I'm taking a step back away from the dinner table and just nibble here and there on some of the desserts. Thanksgiving isn't just the same for me anymore since I'm beginning to dislike some of the foods I once loved.

As always, I'm all for the dessert table. Anything from cakes, cookies to banana pudding, I'm right there with my plate in hand. I came across this cute small dessert treat very different from what I have at my Thanksgiving dinners. This is Food Network's 'Thanksgiving Turkeys' by Giada De Laurentiis. This delightful dessert dish includes, Peanut Butter Cups, Oreo's, Candy Corn and sweet frosting.

If you're intrigued by this dessert dish as I am. Then take your shot at it by re-creating this dish as apart of your Thanksgiving. Remember to share your photos with me!!!

But first you'll need the recipe and ingredients!

Tasty Tuesday - Gina's Spinach Dip

Photo Courtesy of Food Network Online

For some reason i'm in love with sauces and dips. I usually dip my meals in some type of side sauce or dip every time I go out to restaurants or just at family cookouts. My dip addiction is Spinach Dip, I had it for the first time last year and ever since i've been hooked. It's something about how creamy and zesty it tastes. In fact, the only Spinach Dip i've ever tasted was from 'Friday's' and 'Chili's'.

This week's Tasty Tuesday, I decided to bring on Food Network's own The Neely's with their homemade recipe of 'Gina's Spinach Dip'. It's good to go to a restaurant and order the finest Spinach Dip, but that's just too costly when you think about it. Why not buy the ingredients yourself and create the dish at home so you can have it whenever you feel for it.

Tasty Tuesday: Spaghetti With Quick Turkey Chili

Photo Courtesy of Food Network Online

Eavesdropping on my mother's conversation yesterday as she mentioned cooking Spaghetti this week, my mouth watered. I wasn't going to choose something so heavy today, but I mean we can ditch our diets one day of the week...you know *CHEAT DAY* (words of a true fatty).

I went searching online for some good Spaghetti recipes and came across something healthy that included real fresh vegetables and meat. Instead of giving a dish using beef, this Spaghetti can substitute the ground beef for ground turkey. To make things so much yummier, you can mix your ground turkey into a quick chili throw it over your noodles and you'll end up with the ultimate Spaghetti dish.

Enough, of my babbling, I know this is one dish mixture you all would love to try (I know I can't wait to get in the kitchen with my mother and start adding these special tweaks). Without further adu, here's today's Tasty Tuesday meal and it comes from Food Network's Magazine's own 'Spaghetti With Quick Turkey Chili'.

This week's Tasty Tuesday is a berry smoothie which reality TV and SkinnyGirl mogul Bethenny Frankel dubbed Bryn's (her daughter) favorite. The smoothie is filled with nothing but fresh fruit and makes a perfect snack in the afternoon when you need a sugar rush. I mean c'mon this so speaks me!!!! SUGAR!!!! RUSH!!! YUP, that's me.

Today is a special day, not only is it Tasty Tuesday but it's also Taco Tuesday!!! I myself enjoy a good Taco Salad once in a while, depending on the condiments being used and how if it's made right. Well still beings though it's still January and everyone is still on their workout regime, I thought I once again pull up a meal that is diet friendly and I mean Chicken and Salad go hand in hand right?

This Taco Tuesday Tasty Tuesday is Food Network's the Neely's with their Chicken Taco Salad. The two have been very popular chefs in the kitchen on the Food Network Channel for a while now so I highly trust their recipes and meals; it has to be the REAL DEAL! Tasty Tuesday - Buffalo Chicken Salad

I promise not to get too heavy on the Tasty Tuesday meals for those who are sticking to their New Year's resolutions of eating right and getting back into shape after all those holiday meals. After indulging in fatty foods and pasta this weekend, I'm slowing things down myself and eating portioned dinners light and hearty (oh I mean healthy). I was browsing through Food Network online when I came across their top healthy New Year's meals.

Today's Tasty Tuesday healthy meal to start by getting back into shape in Ellie Krieger's Buffalo Chicken Salad. A salad is the best meal to have throughout the day, only because you can indulge in your favorite foods mixed in with it such as Buffalo Chicken. I enjoy a good Buffalo Chicken Pizza, but since I can't have that, I will trick my tastebuds into making my Buffalo Chicken Salad taste as if it was a slice of pizza. Ellie Krieger also makes her own blue cheese, how much healthier can this get?!

Continue after the jump to get the recipe for Ellie Krieger's Buffalo Chicken Salad, Bon' Appetite!

Tasty Tuesday - American Flag Pull Apart Cupcakes

The summer is here and this means cookouts galore; especially the biggest one of the summer 4th of July. Being the cook that I am, I was browsing around Rachael Ray's website for some good recipes when I came across guest food blogger on her site by Christina Stanley Salerno. Christina introduced her cupcake creation of the American Flag with lots of frosting and tasty fruits such as blueberries and strawberries. This is the ultimate patriotic dessert I've ever seen I don't think I would want to even eat it; just leave it on my dining room table as decoration. This simple easy cupcake pull apart recipe is just like baking regular cupcakes with only adding two more additions which are the fruits. Nothing too intricate for a baker or non cooker :-).

Check the recipe ingredients and preparation below:

INGREDIENTS

For the Cake:
  • One box of store bought devils food cake mix, or your favorite devils food cake recipe

Icing and Decoration:
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 6 to 8 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 pint strawberries
  • 1 cup blueberries

PREPARATION

Instructions For The Cake:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line mini muffin tins with paper liners. Note: this recipe yields 48 mini cupcakes so you will need two 24-cup mini muffin tins or have to bake them in batches using whatever size mini muffin tins you have.
Mix cake according to package/recipe instructions. Once batter comes together, fill each prepared muffin cup ¾ of the way full with batter. Bake cupcakes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 18-20 minutes. Cool on wire rack while you prepare the icing and fruit topping.
For The Icing/Decoration:
Dry berries thoroughly. It is important that they be super dry or else they will slide off of the cake.
Hull and slice strawberries in half, then cut the half’s into thin slices, this will be the “stripes” in the American flag. Gently blot the strawberries with paper towel to remove any excess juice from the berries.
In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream butter until smooth and creamy, 2 to 3 minutes. With mixer on low speed, add 6 cups of sugar, milk, and vanilla and mix until light and fluffy. If the icing is a little too soft, add in remaining 2 cups sugar to reach a stiff frosting.
Generously pipe icing onto each cupcake.  You want to be generous because when the cupcakes are sitting next to each other, extra icing will fill in the gaps and make the cake look more like a flag. Note: you can spread instead of pipe but piping always looks neater. Find a large rectangular platter, slightly bigger than you think you will need for 48 cupcakes and place each cupcake side by side touching each other, making six rows of 8 cupcakes.
Place the blueberries or “stars” in the upper left side corner of the cake, approximately, eight rows of eleven blueberries.  Then take your strawberries and set them on their side into rows to fill in the rest of the cake. Keep cake refrigerated until guests arrive because icing will melt if left out in the heat.

Thanks To Rachael Ray and Christina Stanley Salerno For Sharing This Wonderful Delicious Patriotic Cupcake Platter. I Think I'll Definitely Try To Make This For The 4th of July.

Tasty Tuesday: Overnight Blueberry French Toast

For those who didn't know I am a sweets foody (a person obsessed with food). I could practically eat anything sweet in the morning. I know it's bad, but there's this infatuation I have with sugar. Please don't let me be the only one, can I get an AMEN?!

I was scrimmaging around online looking for something tasty to post when I came across actress and party planner extraordinaire Tori Spelling's cute little mother's day treat. The dish Overnight Blueberry French Toast looks absolutely delish!!! I'm no fan of french toast, but the way Tori did the works on it sure made me want to try it. I don't know about you, but by looking at the picture I'm drooling for it now. Of course I had to share this with you all!

Tasty Tuesday: Cool Cucumber Salad

Call me whatever you want, but I never knew a salad could be considered a salad still without lettuce. Duh to me hence "Macaroni, Potato and Sea Food Salad"...don't judge me. On a serious note, I always thought a salad always contained lettuce. However, i'm not a big fan of lettuce. When I get a salad I'm usually eating everything else but the green leaves. I am a fan of cold cucumbers and thanks to friend in my head Bethenny Frankel former New York Housewife now turned reality tv entrepreneur she has shared her cucumber salad recipe.

Whatever, don't mind me, it looks good this actually has less ingredients. You'll love it though, here's today's Tasty Tuesday 'Easy, Impressive Frittata' by Bethenny Frankel. Bon' Appetite'!

Tasty Tuesday: Parker House Rolls

For those who are a complete Thanksgiving side dish person, here is the ultimate dish you can not forget before the big holiday dig in. The side dish I love to have is a nice buttery roll that will give my taste buds a tease before the actual meal. Years before I usually brought bread rolls and I would butter them up and pop them into the oven for a golden crisp look. Now, I would love to learn how to bake the bread by scratch. I should have told you about this recipe like weeks in advance prior to Thanksgiving, but it only takes 3 hours out of the day to bake.

Well if you don't have the time on Gobble Gobble Day, I suggest you bake it the day before. Today's Tasty Tuesday meal is my favorite Thanksgiving side dish that comes from The Food Network Online and it is "Parker House Rolls". Looking at the picture above just makes me want to eat the whole roll now! Continue after the jump for the ingredients and prepping instructions. Have a Happy Thanksgiving, Be Safe And Enjoy!!!
