DASH LA Is Open For Business!!!

Those KRAZY Kardashians has relocated their first chain boutique DASH from Calabasas,California to Los Angeles and this past Friday was it's opening. The Dash Dolls Kourtney, Kim and Khloe decided to move their boutique DASH to a much noticeable busy area where business will pick up extremely due to Calabasas being such a quiet suburban area so why not Los Angeles. 

Spotted at the store's opening was Kim Kardashian and her beau Kanye West, Khloe Kardashian-Odom, Kris and Bruce Jenner; Kourtney and Scott weren't in attendance due to caring for their new baby girl Penelope Scotland Disick. With the upcoming release of Newark, NJ's native rapper Broadway Blake's album Broadway Empire, I will interview the rapper in the upcoming weeks. I will ask the important questions such as his influences in the music industry, his grind, of course the upcoming album, why it took him a year to finally release his project and more. I Cover Beyonce's I Miss You [Preview]

I recently covered one of my favorite songs from Beyonce, a song off her latest album 4 titled "I Miss You" written and produced by the extraordinaire Frank Ocean. When I heard the album I instantly fell in love with the beat and then gradually listened to the lyrics of the song towards the end knowing for sure I truly can relate to it. 

There is always that person that comes in your life that you will always miss incredibly whether they are just in the bathroom or around the corner to the store and question whether that person shares the same feeling for you. Tasty Tuesday: Avocado Deviled Eggs

Borrowed from Tori Spelling's blog which she borrowed from Eating Well Living Thin, I chose this temptingly somewhat delicious kind of deviled eggs. I say somewhat only because this deviled egg dish includes avocado and I am not a big fan of ANYTHING avocado. However, I am in love with deviled eggs so why not try something new and go a bit spicy. That's what hits my taste buds when I taste avocado; a bitter spiced taste. It looks very good though, I'm not going to deny that but one of these summer days i'll grab my BFF Britany and we can make some for a taste tester. Here's today Tasty Tuesday Avocado Deviled Eggs, check the recipe below. 

Ingredients

• 6 hard boiled eggs
• 1 medium avocado, diced small
• 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
• 2 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
• 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste
• Salt to taste

Directions

1. Cut boiled eggs in half lengthwise and carefully scoop out yolks. 
2. Mash yolks with a fork. Stir in diced avocados, mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and salt to taste. 
3. Fill egg whites with yolk mixture and place on a serving plate. Sprinkle with cayenne or fresh, chopped parsley.

Issa Rae's Webisode: Awkward Black Girl (Season 1)

Here's one of my newest favorite YouTube shows and it goes by the name of The Mis-Adventures Of Awkward Black Girl & Friends created by Issa Rae. I came across the show from a popular urban culture blog site that I visit daily and become obsessed with Issa Rae and her creation of ABG (Awkward Black Girl). 

ABG is a scripted YouTube web series based on main character J played by Issa Rae, as she takes us along with her weird and most awkward moments through life even inviting us into her job and introducing us to some of friends who are just as awkward as herself; we even get a glimpse of interracial dating. Issa Rae created the show last year January 2011 and flash forwarding till now the show is in it's second season; being picked up by Grammy award winning recording artist/producer Pharrell's I Am Other YouTube channel. ABG's first episode in season one brought in over 1 million views it's first week of airing. 

I didn't think I would actually become addicted to the show, but soon after I watched the first episode I was so intrigued my finger couldn't press the PAUSE button. There are currently 13 episodes in the first season with one episode up for season 2; episode 2 will be available for viewing later this month. Of course, I will keep you updated on the episodes. Issa Rae and her creative team who can also be seen as actors on ABG have been getting a lot of publicity by appearing on daytime talk shows, an article in ESSENCE Magazine, notable blog sites and even caught the attention of entertainment news outlets followed by much more. 

If you aren't familiar with ABG then I will catch you up on the 13 episodes right here for you! I'll even sneak in season 2's first episode. After you have watched season 1, I recommend you watch the hour long interview between Google/YouTube representatives, Issa Rae and two other ABG co-stars. VERY EXCITING SHOW THAT I LOVE DEARLY!!! I CAN RELATE IN SO MANY WAYS!!!

Hey everyone, so over the weekend I decided to cave in and submit a video for BET's 106 & Park The Search for a new host. For some years I've been getting my feet wet by being an interviewer and VJ, whether it was on Blog Talk Radio or my radio show stint I had at Union County College. I actually enjoy being a host/interviewer and meeting new people. It's something about that job that makes me feel so much comfortable knowing I can be myself. I think BET needs a new face for their top 10 countdown show and why not choose me. I have such an exuberant personality that can light up a room full of blind people (no offense but it's true :-)!) When I recorded my reason why I wanted to be BET's 106 and Park New Search Host it was raw and entertaining. I didn't want to film myself where I  had to remember a scripted line and forget to bring out my TRUE personality. Nel Biggs: Respect My Mic

I'm just getting up on Southside Queens rapper Nel Biggs, a friend of mine(@itzCourtLamar) sent out a FaceBook Event a week ago, on the release of his brother Nel Biggs latest mixtape Respect My Mic which was released yesterday afternoon. This is my first time actually hearing some of Nel Biggs music and I am pretty impressed. If you're not familiar with Nel Biggs like I was, I did my research and found this little bio on his website:

Listening to his mixtape you can hear the dedication and drive he has for his music. New York rappers have this sound that no one can compare too, it's a certain flavor that grabs you into wanting more; and this is something I feel when I heard the mixtape. DRAW SOMETHING: LaTroyWatson

I'm obsessed with the game app DRAW SOMETHING!!! If you're not familiar with the game then let me catch you up. Draw Something is a game played by two people, where they give you options of three words you have to draw and the person you're playing with has to guess your drawing vice-versa. What's so fun about the game is that you play for coins and with these coins you can either buy color palettes for your pencil or bombs so that you can eliminate some of the letters making it easy for you to guess the drawing. 

To my knowledge Draw Something is available for the iTouch, iPhone, iPad and Android market. This game can get really funny only if you're playing with someone who can't draw worth a dime. I suggest you guys download the game (ITS FREE!!!) and play me, my username is LaTroyWatson exactly how I wrote it.

My Prayers & Condolences To Tameka Raymond & Family

My prayers and condolences goes out to Tameka Foster-Raymond and family for their sadly time of need. Over the weekend, Tameka's eldest son Kyle (pictured above) was severely injured due to a jet ski accident hitting his head knocking him unconscious. When brought out of the water and taken into ER, doctors announced he was in critical condition, in the early afternoon of Sunday it was announced Kyle was brain dead. 

Despite the messy divorce court battle Tameka and recording superstar Usher Raymond are going through, it was Usher who charted an immediate flight for Tameka (who was out of town when she received the painful news) to be by her sons side. 

This is an incident in which I wouldn't wish upon anyone, my heart grieves for Tameka and her loved ones. I can't imagine what I would do if my child or sibling was in the state Kyle is in. No parent should have to go through what Tameka is going through right now. I ask as you pray with me, her son Kyle will recover greatly and speedy. 

Kourtney Kardashian & Scott Disick Welcome Baby Girl Penelope Scotland Disick!!!

Congrats to Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick who welcomed their baby girl named Penelope Scotland Disick weighing in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces on Sunday. 

This is the second bundle of joy from the two long time couple; in which they birthed their first child Mason Dash Disick back in 2009. Hopefully we'll get to see pictures of the new baby girl soon, until then congrats Kourtney, Scott and Mason; Can we expect baby Penelope's birth on an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians? 

Throwback Friday - Pure "I Am Pure"

Currently spinning heavy rotation on my iPod is New Jersey's rising singer Pure. I've been obsessed with his new single "The Stars" since I heard it on the radio and in clubs. Pure has just released a three song EP titled I Am Pure on iTunes which features his three biggest singles which are "Body Talk" and "Touch It Bring It". His voice is so unique and if AMAZING was a music genre his music would fall under it. You guys should check it out and buy it; he's def an artist i'm paying close attention too. Gosh I would love to interview him one day!!!

What made me get into Pure's music is when I came across one of his music videos on YouTube with a song titled "I Am Pure". The way he smoothly raps over the SICK beat just makes you want to hear more from him; to be honest it captivated my interest. The video for the song is awesome, I wish I was in it dancing with the white folks getting down. Pure is really talented and he is def an artist to pay attention too. In ending this Friday right I had to make Pure's "I Am Pure" today's Throwback Friday jam.

Britany's 23rd Birthday [Video]

Happy Friday Everyone! Britany just edited and uploaded her birthday video from June 15. The Churls (Britany, Myself, Katheena, Shanta, Asha, Brandy and Sherese) all celebrated Britany's 23rd birthday at Dave & Busters in New York City. It was a nice to remember for all times. BIG NEWS! A few months ago, I became apart of the Peripheral Magazine family as one of their entertainment writers. Peripheral Magazine is a urban based magazine created by Rocky which features up and coming artists/musicians, latest fashions, gaming, sports and more. I'm so happy first and foremost thankful for even being granted the opportunity. I finally found a platform where my entertainment voice is heard. In the article I talk about her stardom, peak, downfalls and even ending with her legacy being remembered for all eternity.

Any Daschund Breeders In New Jersey?

I am now on the search for a Daschund breeder in the Tri-State area, preferably New Jersey. My little brother's 16th birthday is coming up in August and he has been begging for a Daschund puppy. Discussing the situation with my mother, we have come to a conclusion another dog is best needed in the house. 

Pet sore prices are definitely out of our budget and we would like to look into healthy responsible affordable breeders who breed Daschunds (long or short haired). BFF's DEMOLISH The Cinnamon Challenge !!!

Two weeks ago, I posted my Cinnamon Challenge on YouTube and before hand my BFF Britany also took the challenge, recorded it and put it on FaceBook. I only shared the video on Twitter and I know there are some people who don't have a Twitter who aren't aware of our videos that were on YouTube so I decided to share it with you all on my blog. 

To catch you up on what the Cinnamon Challenge is, it is basically taking a teaspoon of pure ground cinnamon and trying to swallow it very fast. It's not so easy but it is; sound's retarded but only some people can complete the challenge and others will spit the cinnamon out before they can even reach 30 seconds of trying to swallow it. I've seen plenty of YouTubers complete and not complete the challenge; it's a harmless challenge.

New Music: Kelly Rowland Feat. Lil' Wayne "ICE"

With weeks of speculation about when Kelly Rowland's new single would be release, a group of song spoilers happened to have the song put a snippet on the internet for it to be taken down media sites ASAP! But that didn't stop the music thieves from getting their hands on the official single that was floating around called "ICE". 

With a recent Kelly Rowland tweet, she's aware her single leaked much earlier than expected :( 

Kelly Rowland teams back up again with Lil Wayne for another steamy and sexual collaboration song that is sure to become another radio hit just like their 2011's "Motivation". I can't wait to see how Kelly plays off in the music video but I don't think we'll be getting a music video for the song anytime soon since it's been leaked. I'm in love with the song I keep playing it over and over especially when Kelly is slaying lines like;

Get It Right Get It Tight!

 

If you guys wondered where have I been lately, it's most likely i'm having an affair with the GYM. For the past four weeks I've been getting it right and getting it tight. I'm hitting the gym so that I can get fit and become much more healthy. I want to become lean and not a slouch so right now i'm doing lots of cardio and also to tone my body i'm doing light weights with heavy reps. 

I've been working out so much that the gym is basically becoming apart of my life. I workout in the morning and the thing that motivates me is my iPod and all the great music you can workout too. So far it has been Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Beyonce, Maroon 5 and Justin Bieber; their albums make the tie go by so fat. Here are some pictures of me sweating it out at the gym. Tasty Tuesday: Fourth of July Cocktail

On the eve of Fourth of July it wouldn't be right if I didn't post a recipe dish that was patriotic. This time it's an easy make; a cocktail. I really planned on going to a winery for the Fourth of July but I guess plans weren't going according too. I'm not big on drinking but I do love a good cocktail here and there. 

Browsing through Food Network's website and came across 21 of the favorite 4th of July recipes, I decided to pick this bomb cocktail called Fourth of July Cocktail; basically self explanatory. What better way to celebrate the Fourth of July with a drink in your hand (if you're in my age bracket then you know what's up)!

Ladies, Do You Give Out Foot Massages?

Last nights episode of Love and Hip-Hop:Atlanta got steamy when cast member Erica Dixon decided to set a candle lit scene for her baby father, rapper Lil' Scrappy. When Lil' Scrappy came into the living room greeted by candles and rose petals, he was in complete relaxation mode. Erica then decided to give Scrappy a warm oiled foot massage. Surprisingly Lil' Scrappy being such a hardcore rapper had pretty feet. 

Now to my knowledge it's rare that some guys carry pretty feet or even take care of their feet by getting pedicures. It was a first when I saw Erica give a Scrappy a foot massage; I was expecting her to rub his back but hmm I guess she really wants him to stay home with her. I mean Scrappy's feet were pretty, but i'm very picky when it comes to me touching someones feet, they have to be pedicured to the T!  I want my guys toenails to look healthy as well as clean. 

I want to know ladies, how often would do you give out feet massages to your man? Or have you ever offered to give out a foot massage and it wasn't how you expected it to be?

I may be late with the BET Awards 2012 Highlights but better late than never.  Let me just start off by saying this was the best BET Awards ever in a long time! I haven't screamed and shouted at an award show since I don't know when. BET didn't upset me Sunday night. Here are my favorite highlights from the show: 

First and foremost can we discuss how RICH the front row was? The camera man was giving tv moments to The Throne who include Jay-Z, Kanye West, Beyonce and new to the crew Kim Kardashian. I was ecstatic to see the four of them along with Solange Knowles and her boyfriend video director Alan Ferguson (who won a BET Award with Beyonce for "Party" in the Director of the Year category). I love this pair of power couple and finally blogs and haters can drop the rumors of Beyonce hating Kim Kardashian; the two are very good acquainted friends. 

Of course I loved the opening performance by G.O.O.D artists Kanye West, Pusha T and Big Sean along with 2 Chainz as they performed the smash radio hit "MERCY". Kanye West towards the end of the performance did an impromptu freestyle. 

 It was a BIG night for THE THRONE as they won an award for Best Duo/Group! I enjoyed Jay-Z making fun of Kanye West by interrupting Kanye as he was citing his thank you speech like Kanye did at 2010's MTV VMA's when he interrupted Taylor Swift. 

Seeing some of the Destiny's Child members in the theater was a BIG highlight. LeToya Luckett and Michelle Williams were each others dates as they hit the red carpet and also sat next to each other. Michelle's dress did it for the occasion, as though LeToya was giving me a wrapped yellow mummy tease. 

Breakout star of the Braxton Family Values, Tamar Braxton who co-hosted the Pre-Show looked very fab in her dress. Her makeup and hair was ON POINT! Tamar is definitely stepping into her own lately, WATCH OUT! ... Now Where's That Long Awaited Album?!! 

 Newly RnB group TTG (Tank, Tyrese and Ginuwine) graced the red-carpet having women throwing their panties towards their tv screens. The three men were Eye Candy throughout the night. 

 Tamia who will always remain beautiful won fans best dressed on the red carpet. Check out her new single "Beautiful Surprise" on iTunes now! 

TV Personality/Host/Actress LaLa Anthony looked phenomenal in her comfortable summer time jumpsuit looking like a Hispanic Princess Jasmine. Go Head LaLa! 

Gawwwwwhhhh if only Boris Kodjoe was single and attracted to me! Boris Kodjoe was another spotted Eye Candy throughout the night. 

Nicki Minaj who performed "Champion" and "Beez In The Trap" of her sophomore album Pink Friday:Roman Reloaded; finally acted sane on stage along with rapper 2 Chainz. My mother was obsessed with her eyes all night!!! Nicki Minaj your eyes were popping and I loved your performance! Is that all of your cakes though?! 

Melanie Fiona reminded us how GOOD RnB music is as she beautifully belted out her hit single "Wrong Side Of A Love Song". The song is off her highly anticipated amazing sophomore album The MF Life out in stores! AMAZING ARTIST! I think Adele and Melanie Fiona should go on tour together! 

Keri Washington who looked shockingly drop dead gorgeous to me for the first time stunned my whole body in her ensemble. Her makeup and hair was simply flawless; gosh that small frame gets all the roles!!! 

BET Lifetime Achievement Award recipients Frankie Beverly and Maze reminded us why old skool music will NEVER go out of style. 

 The Whitney Houston Tribute performed by Monica, Brandy, Chaka Khan and Cissy Houston made the whole world shed more than just a few tears. 

Can Willow Smith & Rachel Crow Make An Inspiring Change?

During Sunday's BET Awards Pre-Show, Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith's outgoing bubbly daughter, 11yr old Willow Smith (most known for making people whip their hair back and forth) brought on a new video to an inspirational song titled "I Am Me". The inspirational song focuses on the backlash the media, fans and certain blogs have made against Willow Smith's freedom from how she dresses to her creative ideas when shes on or out of the spotlight. 

The song also serves as a motivational song for those who get ridiculed for who they are. The song is a nice anthem for young children growing up in a confused place in their lives who think they have to conform with how society thinks a person should be. Check out the video below:
